Fraction Flowers

Our class has been working on fractions.  They created their own word problem and then showed their answer by colouring in the petals of their flowers.  It was a fun end of year activity.

PCS Multicultural Festival 2017

We celebrated our Multicultural Festival last Friday!  It was wonderful to see all of the families and students enjoying themselves so much.  There were lots of fantastic activities for everyone to participate in, including a "Dunk Tank".  The best part, however, was having the opportunity to see all the amazing student performances.  All their hard work and effort definitely paid off.  They were magnificent!

Learning to Use Stop Motion Animation

This is just an example for the students to see how to upload their animation.  The class was very eager and quite creative with their work.  I suggest checking some of it out.

Topic Student Art

We are learning about where each of us come from.  Some of the students in our class are from India so we created our own Rangolis to welcome people into our room.  Symmetry, creativity, and colour are key to a beautiful Rangoli.

During maths we came up with different things we like to keep in the refrigerator.  We then chose categories that those items matched with.  These are our results.

Arts Through the Decades

Over the last, approximately 10 weeks, we have been exploring the topic of art, what art is, and how it has changed over the course of history. Our class found music, drawing/painting, and dance to be the most fascinating. Here is a sample of the some of the artwork our class has created. We hope you enjoy!

Rhythm Interactive Show May 2017

Our class had a fantastic time at the Drum Show this week.  This fit right into our Topic: Arts Across the Decades as they were learning about rhythm and beat.  They had lots of hands on experience and they even worked on following directions.  What a fun experience!

Our class learned a bit about Pablo Picasso.  We then decided to try our hand at some abstract portraits.
